    11/14 hour

How come you don't include the 11 and 14 hour rules?

    Um, we do.

They're listed as Driving and Shift, because they are the 11 hour driving and 14 hour shift rule in the US. In other jurisdictions (like Canada, TX Intrastate, etc.) there are different limits and different categories.

For example, if you enter a grid with 12 hours straight driving you'll see the Driving violation light up since you're over the 11 hour driving limit in the US.

Is this only in the full version or does the trial have this as well?

They are the same identical software; when you buy you just get an unlock code.

I recommend watching the demo or training videos.

The violation indicators are in the lower left area of the window next to the current jurisdiction.

    Re: 11/14 hour

The DOT doesn't specifically approve individual software, but we are compliant with the relevant regulations, as our thousands of users will attest.

There are two ways to legally use the program:

    • One is to use the software for planning/tracking hours, and still fill out paper logs by hand.
    • The other way to use the program is to rely primarily on the laptop. Usually you can just show the officer your laptop, and that will be sufficient. But officers *do* have the right to request your printed copies, so we recommend you have a printer in the cab for printing logs out at the end fo the day, and also during inspections if an officer requires it.

    Good luck!

    Re: 11/14 hour

There are two print options (on the top menu, select File...)

One is "Print today so far" which is what you use to only print up to the current point in time.

The other is "Print" which will print the log grid as you have it shown on screen.

So if you go off duty at 7pm, and know you're done for the day, you can use the Print option (not the Print today so far option) and it fills out the whole log.

Sorry; the regulations require those fields so we can't remove them.

How about an option to only print thelog grid and not the inspection report?

    Re: 11/14 hour

We have custom forms available without DVIRs. Just contact support and ask them to put that form on your account.

Hey quick question. I saw that you have forms available without DVIRs, if I chose to use that form, would I have to fill out a seperate DVIR? I work with a Non Profit Ministry using the software and am new to the whole DOT relm of things! Thanks Andrew

If you're subject to daily inspections, then yes you would need a separate form (some carriers prefer that anyway).
